How to use essential oils

Therapeutic Bath

Add 5-10 drops of your favourite essential oil to 10mlvegetable oil and then pop into your bath, just before turning off the taps. This ensures most of the aromas are not lost before you have time to enjoy.

Shower

After your usual cleansing routine, place 2-3 drops of essential oil onto a wet flannel and rub this briskly over your body then rinse thoroughly.

Skin or Facial Oil

Blend 5-10 drops of your chosen essential oil with 10ml of carrier oil to create a therapeutic skin or facial treatment, avoiding contact with the eyes. The same formula may be used to create an aftershave for men.

Steam Inhalation

Add 4-6 drops of essential oils to a bowl of hot water and inhale the vapours.Use to help clear away congestion, help relieve symptoms of headache.

Oil Burner

Fill the top of an oil burner with water and add a few drops of essential oil.These burners are used with a small candle under the bowl which when lit, evaporates the oil into the air spreading through the room* Do not leave unattended.

Direct Application

More than Skin Deep essential oils, being 100% pure are highly concentrated and should not be applied undiluted except on the advice of a health care practitioner. To dilute essential oils for direct application, blend 5-10 drops of your chosen essential oil to 10ml carrier oil.For tender skin, initially dab a small amount to test skin sensitivity.

Massage

The body through massage readily absorbs essential oils.This is a special activity we can perform on someone we care for - a child, lover, husband, wife or friend.Make a unique blend of oils together with our cold pressed carrier oils. Add 5 - 10 drops of essential oils to 10ml carrier oil.

Foot Bath

For tired and aching feet, add 3 drops of Lavender and 3 drops of Peppermint oil to warm water and soak for ten minutes.

Atomisation / Deodoriser

An atomiser can be used to disperse fragrance, repel insects or eliminate airborne germs.Add 4 drops of essential oil to 250ml warm water and shake to disperse.

– Do not apply oil undiluted to skin except on the adviceof a health care practitoner
– For external use only
– Keep out of reach of children
– Avoid contact with the eyes
– If ailment persists seek medical advice

During Pregnancy avoid using

Basil, Cedarwood, Cinnamon, Clove, Clary Sage, Fennel, Juniper, Myrrh, Marjoram, Parsley, Peppermint, Rose, Rosemary, Sage and Thyme
